Laboratory of trees. A place where trees are invented or they invent themselves. Trees extremely endemic, existing nowhere else. They are unlike any other trees and it is quite doubtful if they are trees at all. They don't grow. They become neither smaller nor bigger. They appear at once in their ultimate form. Motionless and changeless. It is not known if their branches could sway since winds don't blow here. It happens sometimes, though rarely, a tree disappears leaving no trace. It is not known, either, if birds weave nests in their crowns... They have bizarre names, but not more bizarre than oak, willow, hornbeam or pine. Maybe less bizarre, because meaning something. The way the names are written can not be changed. If changed the names would transform into different trees, and the former ones would vanish. It is very hard to imagine, that the name and the named are exactly one and the same thing; this is why the trees are absolutely unique.

Laboratorio de arboj. La loko kie arboj estas elpensataj aŭ ili elpensas sin mem. Arboj ekstreme endemiaj, troveblaj nenie alie. Ili similas al neniuj aliaj arboj kaj eĉ oni povas dubi ĉu ili estas arboj. Ili ne kreskas. Nek pligrandiĝas, nek malpligran-diĝas. Ekaperas tuj en sia fina formo. Senmovaj kaj senŝanĝaj. Oni ne scias ĉu iliaj branĉoj svingus vente, ĉar ventoj ĉi tie ne blovas. Okazas, kvankam maloftege, ke iu arbo malaperas senspure... Oni ne scias ankaŭ ĉu birdoj teksas nestojn en iliaj branĉaroj... La arboj havas bizarajn nomojn, sed ne pli bizarajn ol kverko, karpeno, alno kaj pinio. Eble eĉ malpli bizarajn, ĉar ion signifantaj, tamen la signifo estas profunde kaŝita. La skribmaniero de tiuj nomoj ne povas esti ŝanĝita. Se oni ion ŝanĝos, tiam la nomoj iĝos aliaj arboj kaj la antaŭaj simple malaperos, neniiĝos. Estas tre malfacile imagi, ke la nomo kaj la nomito estas unu sama estaĵo-objekto, tamen estas ĝuste tiele.
